∷ Wan Fang: '“Truth” is the most important word in life, including authenticity and sincerity. My father, Cao Yu, observed with his eyes, felt with his emotions, thought with his mind, and then poured this sincerity into his works with his pen. Also, there is authenticity; there is no absolute good or evil in the world, everyone is the truest version of themselves, and that may be the “truth” in my father's works.'

∷ Xiao Zhan: 'What is the core of your creation?'
∷ Wan Fang: 'The real core of my work is “questioning”; it is confusion that drives me to write. When we are happy, we may be more accustomed to enjoying the moment, only when we are in pain do we reflect, question, and seek answers.'

∷ Xiao Zhan: 'Will classic dramas change or adjust with the times?'
∷ Wan Fang: 'Classics are determined by time; they will change with the times, and this change is natural. But the reason why a classic is a classic is because of its unchanging value and unique vitality.'
